Im Rahmen einer Erasmus-Projektwoche in Br\u00fcssel im Herbst 2025 entstand die Kooperation zwischen dem BRG14 und dem Bornego College in Heerenveen (NL). Nun durften wir zwei Sch\u00fcler:innen aus den Niederlanden f\u00fcr zwei Wochen bei uns in Wien willkommen hei\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

In ihrem pers\u00f6nlichen Bericht schildern Tijn Lubberts und Lutske van der Molen ihre Eindr\u00fccke vom Schulalltag am BRG14, vom Leben in Gastfamilien sowie von ihren kulturellen Erlebnissen in Wien. Ihre Erfahrungen zeigen, wie bereichernd internationale Begegnungen sein k\u00f6nnen \u2013 sowohl f\u00fcr unsere G\u00e4ste als auch f\u00fcr unsere Schulgemeinschaft.<\/p>\n

After a full day of travelling by train, we finally arrived in Vienna late in the evening. Leo and Emilia picked us up, and from that first moment we already felt welcome. What followed were two unforgettable weeks that felt like living inside a Bridgerton.<\/p>\n

School here was very different from what we are used to. The class is bilingual, and many students have lived abroad, so everyone speaks excellent English. What surprised us most was the relaxed atmosphere; the students are so kind, and everybody is included. It is a very different system, but it was interesting to experience. Beyond classes, the school spirit was incredible, especially during the annual sports tournament where entire classes cheered passionately for their teams.<\/p>\n

Outside of school, Vienna truly stole our hearts. Visiting Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace and its zoo was breathtaking, and the view over the city from the hills at sunset is something we will never forget. The historic city centre feels like an open-air museum, with magnificent buildings on every corner. The highlight for us was the Austrian National Library, without exaggeration, the most beautiful room we have ever seen. It was there that we realized everyone should visit Vienna at least once in their life.<\/p>\n

We also experienced a traditional school ball, where everyone wore elegant dresses and suits. It felt magical seeing students just like us dressed so fabulously for a school event. From skiing in the mountains to sharing meals, games, and laughter at home, we felt completely welcome.<\/p>\n

These two weeks have been more than a trip, they have been an experience of friendship, beauty, and culture. We are deeply grateful for the warmth, openness, and unforgettable memories Vienna has given us.<\/p>\n
